The only hardware tip available is:

If your sound card, network card, or other video device does not work in windows ... (95, 98, any 9x version) .. look at the device properties.

1. right click on "My Computer" and click on "Properties"
2. click on the "Device Manager" tab.
3. if the device you are having problems with has a yellow circle around it with an exclamation point in it ... you have a problem
 ** following the directions below are only possible suggestions, web-friend does not promise any results, and in fact, working in this area of your computer can cause further problems ***

4. delete the said device from device manager.
5. turn the computer off
6. turn the computer back on
7. Windows may find your device, and pop up a notice that "Windows has found new hardware" ... then proceed.  If you do not get this box and information about finding new hardware ... see step  11
8. windows found a new device ... follow the prompts
9. If windows says it will install new drivers, but offers a button that says "Have Disk" ...insert you disk and click the button, then allow windows to install the new drivers from that disk
10. If you do not have a disk, then allow window to use the most suitable driver.
11. If the computer starts up without recognizing your new hardware (sound card, video card, scanner, etc.) then click the start button ....go to "Settings" .. and click the "Control Panel"
12. Double click the "Add New Hardware" button.
13. This may take some time, but if windows does its search ... and finds nothing ... then it should prompt you for a disk ... insert that disk, and run.
